Glycerin or glycerol is a chemical compound with the formula C3H8O3. It is a colorless to brown, odorless, sweet, viscous and non-toxic liquid.

Types of glycerin include vegetable, animal and synthetic.

Glycerin is used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, soap making, Anti-freeze, Agriculture, Military industry, Lubrication of tools and food industries. This substance is used as a moisturizer to treat itching, dryness and irritation of the skin.
